Who Can Use This App

This app is intended for users aged 15 and older.

  • Parents/Guardians: You may use the app to track the health of your dependents (children) under your own account.
  • Minors: If you are under 15, please do not create an account. Have a parent or guardian manage your profile for you.

Information We Collect

We only collect data that helps us show you your health trends.

A. Information You Give Us

  • Account Info: Name, email address, and password (collected during registration).
  • Profile Data: Date of birth and gender identity (for accurate growth charts and lab references).
  • Health Logs: Symptoms, mood, sleep, medications, and any notes you enter manually.

B. Information from Connected Providers (Optional)

If you choose to use our "Connect" feature to link your healthcare provider (e.g., via MyChart/Epic):

  • We fetch copies of your Labs, Medications, and Clinical Notes to display them in the app.
  • Note: We act as a digital wallet for this data. You pulled it, so you own it.

C. App Performance Data

We use tools like Google Analytics to see if the app is crashing or if buttons are broken.

What this IS: "The app crashed on the 'Settings' screen for 10 users."

What this IS NOT: "John Doe has a fever." We never send your health data to Google Analytics.

How We Use Your Data

  • To visualize your health: Creating your pain heatmaps, symptom lines, and lab result trends.
  • To organize your records: Merging data from different doctors into one view.
  • To send reminders: Pushing notifications for medication or appointments (only if you opt-in).

Our "No-Go" List (What We Will NEVER Do)

Your trust is our business model. Therefore:

No Selling: We do not sell, rent, or trade user data to advertisers, pharma companies, or data brokers.
No LLM Training: We do not contribute your data to Large Language Models (LLMs) or public AI datasets. Your notes stay in your ecosystem; they do not teach an AI how to speak.
No Advertising: We do not use your health conditions to target ads at you.

Security & Storage

We treat your data with the same security standards required of hospitals (HIPAA standards), even where we aren't legally required to.

  • Encryption: Data is encrypted while moving between your phone and our cloud (Transit) and while sitting in our database (Rest).
  • Infrastructure: We use Google Firebase, a secure cloud infrastructure provider trusted by major apps globally.
  • Access: Only you have the keys to your account. Our staff does not read your private notes or health records.

Managing & Deleting Your Data

We believe if you put data in, you must be able to take it out.

  • Delete a Dependent: You can remove a specific patient profile from the "Manage Dependents" screen at any time.
  • Delete Your Account: You can fully delete your account via Settings > Profile > Delete Account.

Result: This permanently wipes your personal data from our active databases. This action cannot be undone.

Changes to This Policy

As Vela Health AI Inc. grows, we might update this policy. If we make big changes—like how we handle your data—we will notify you via email or an in-app alert.
